A note from Collin County Republican Party Chairman, George Flint.

We support Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu in his efforts to prevent Iran from obtaining nuclear weapons. In his speech to Congress this past Tuesday, the Prime Minister forcefully reminded us that Iran poses a real and significant threat to world peace.

The Iranian regime has repeated over and over again their hatred towards Israel and the United States.  Iran has done nothing to indicate that they have changed their stripes, and to think otherwise in the present circumstances  is absurd.  Even President Obama stated he does not trust them, but rather feels if they agree to a verifiable deal then they are living up to their end of the bargain.

While it is commendable that President Obama wants to follow in the footsteps of a great Republican President, Ronald Reagan, who famously said “Trust, but verify”, President Obama is gravely mistaken.  The Iranian leadership is far worse than communist Russia.   They have said over and over what their intentions would be against Israel if they had a nuclear weapon.

Prime Minister Netanyahu has laid out viable alternatives to a bad deal.  These alternatives would place the United States and Israel in a better negotiating position and would cripple the Iranian regime.  As someone who lives with the  constant attacks made on his country, Prime Minister Netanyahu knows all too well what the price of failure is.  This is why we urge all Americans, whether you are a Republican, Democratic or independent to stand with us and support America and Israel in our endeavors to restrain evil.
