Chairman’s Report – September, 2024
COMMITTED
TO KEEPING
COLLIN RED
REINVIGORATING THE CCGOP
Collin County is one of the fastest-growing counties in the country, with 1.2 million people and growing, and we’re building an organization worthy of the largest red county in Texas.
Since the 2024 election for Collin County Republican Party Chair, we’ve put together a team to modernize and revitalize the Collin County GOP.
To grow the Party, we’re engaging “the countless Republicans who don’t yet know they’re Republican.” By embracing modern digital marketing techniques, including social media campaigns and targeted email outreach, we’re reaching a broader audience to more effectively communicate our values and initiatives.
Likewise, we’re engaging the community with a series of town halls, community service projects, local events, and socials to foster direct interaction with constituents. We’ve revamped public relations efforts to focus on transparency and open communication, with a dedicated team working to maintain a positive image and actively respond to public inquiries and media coverage.
We’re scaling for the November 2024 election, transforming our volunteering model, modernizing our technology ecosystem, and we’re making plans to relocate our Headquarters at the end of 2025. Big things are coming.
Through these efforts, the Collin County GOP is striving to build a more engaging, impactful, responsive, and dynamic presence in the community.
Chairman’s Notes
Since you elected me as Chairman of the Collin County Republican Party three months ago, we hit the ground running the day after election day. We’re facing the most consequential Presidential election of our lifetimes, and we’ve been busy.
Some notable highlights of what we’ve been doing are below, with some recent pictures as well. This will be a quarterly report, and while the quarter starts October 1st, what we’re doing is too important to wait until October to share. We’ll normalize the timing of this report in the new year, but right now, here’s what’s happening.
Accomplishments
- Convened new Technology Team to modernize our technology stack and bring the CCGOP roaring into the 21st Century; we’re deploying new systems and have begun conducting advanced analytics on election results and precinct-level voter data
- Appointed new Directors of Marketing and PR and of Events, who are working hand-in-hand to revitalize our outreach to voters
- Launching new marketing campaign to resonate in a big way with the average voter. The campaign is being run across numerous mediums, including digital ads, text ads, Spotify, billboards, and signs, featuring our themed approach:
- “Make Groceries Affordable Again”
- “Make the Border Secure Again”
- “Make Our Kids Safe Again”
- Procured 70,000 push cards and thousands of signs for countywide distribution, with more on the way
- Began weekly blockwalks for our Republican candidates (every Saturday at 8:30 am from CCGOP HQ–join us!)
- Changing the game with community events to engage a broader range of voters:
- Collin-Denton County Cricket Tournament
- Free-to-the-Public Constitution 101 Seminar
- Monthly socials for the public
- Beer Pong Tournament at Celina Oktoberfest
- I’m hopeful to get a dunk tank for us at the Plano Balloon Festival “Dunk a Politician – 3 throws $5”
- Car Show
- Many more…
- Developing eCommerce capability to offer a variety of quality CCGOP merchandise
Challenges
We’re making considerable progress, but we do still have some challenges ahead of us.
- Our Executive Committee is still divided and there is contention. Strong progress is being made, but infighting is serving to slow our progress in achieving our goals in a highly consequential Presidential election year
- The nomination of Kamala Harris has galvanized the Democrat Party in a way that Joe Biden could not. We are facing that surge of energy head-on and redoubling our efforts to reach voters who might have otherwise voted Democrat this year
- We’re working diligently to update and modernize our electoral approach (see progress under Accomplishments on the prior page), but we’re doing it in the middle of a Presidential election—equivalent to changing the tires on a car while it’s flying down the track at top speed
There’s More on the Horizon
We also have some big things in the works.
- CCGOP Membership Program (this is going to be cool)
- Expansion of our community engagement and events initiatives
- New training, both for volunteers and the public
- Engagement at the Capitol in Austin in Texas’s 89th Legislative Session in 2025
- Relocation of Collin County Republican Party Headquarters in late 2025
- And a lot more. Stay tuned!
