The first debate among Republican presidential candidates caused a shift of support by Collin County, Texas, Republicans who responded to the survey.  We sent out a survey link in an email to the CollinGOP and we received 217 survey responses. Although only 1/3 of respondents indicated that the debate changed their mind, that change was dramatic.

Ted Cruz held his strong first position, but slipped slightly after the debate. The big winners were Carly Fiorina (who went from 5th place before the debate to 2nd place after), Mike Huckabee (10th place before to 7th place after), and John Kasich (11th place to 9th). The big losers were Scott Walker (who went from 2nd place to 5th place), Rand Paul (9th place before to 11th place after), and Rick Perry (8th place to 10th). Overall, six candidates lost position from the debate, six candidates stayed in the same position, and five candidates gained position. Please contact CollinGOP headquarters if you would like the full results.
