As the hours go by, the devastating effects caused to our fellow Texans and Americans by Hurricane Harvey continue to pile up. Every minute there is a new report of flooding. The press is calling is “unprecedented flooding” and it may well be. Our heroic first responders are doing well what they can, but to rebuild and restore our neighbors’ lives after this will take on extended heroic effort by all of us to support the responders and the injured, hurting people whose lives, homes, and work have been upended. We can all help by our prayers, by our hospitality in opening our homes to those people who need shelter and comfort, and by our gifts of money to the Red Cross and to the broad variety of ministries and churches, mosques, synagogues, and temples who are organizing their resources to help these people and communities.

As Chairman of the Collin County Republican Party, I call on everyone to lend a hand, today. Pray, today.  Give, today. Our fellow Texans need us now, and they will need us tomorrow and the day after that. Let’s be there for them!
